Jim Clarken

Jim Clarken is the CEO of Oxfam Ireland and an Executive Board Member of Oxfam International. He was appointed by the EU Commission to the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) and was elected as Chair of the Agency. He is a Commissioner at the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission (IHREC) and a member of the Workers and Employers Committee at IHREC. Jim is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Business and Law at University College Cork, a member of the Advisory Board of Ireland's largest Business School. Jim is a leading commentator on global issues relating to human rights, inequality, sustainable development, the rights of refugees and migrants, and the role of business in protecting and promoting human rights, contributing to political and public debate in a wide range of international fora. A passionate advocate for the rights of women, Jim has driven a gender-focus through Oxfam’s work. He has led Dochas and the Irish Consortium on Gender Based Violence and was appointed by the Ceann Comhairle (Speaker of the Irish Parliament), to the Forum on Family Friendly and Inclusive Parliament to transform Ireland’s parliamentary system to delivery greater balance and diversity. He is an advisor to the Irish Government on its role at the UN Security Council.

Frank Long

Frank Long is the Chief Operations Officer with responsibility for the support functions within Oxfam Ireland including Finance, Governance and Compliance, Health & Safety, IT, Corporate Services, Digital and Human Resources. Frank is a Chartered Accountant and after qualifying with PWC, worked in a variety of finance and operations roles in the commercial sector including banking, motor vehicle distribution, venture capital and publishing before joining Oxfam Ireland in 2016.

Niamh Carty

Niamh is the Programme Director at Oxfam Ireland and has worked with the organisation since 2005. She has served as a board member of Dóchas, Ireland’s National Platform on Aid and Development and was previously a Ministerial appointee to the Irish Aid Advisory Committee. She has undertaken various roles within the Oxfam International Confederation and is currently Chair of the governance body that oversees Oxfam’s work in Southern Africa.

Niamh graduated from Trinity College in 1989 with a BA in music. She also holds an MA in Development Studies from the University of Hull, UK. She previously worked for Irish Aid in Zambia and for Christian Aid Ireland. She has been a member of the Steering Committee of the Irish Consortium on GBV and led the consortium’s strategic planning process in 2012. She has also served as a member of the monitoring group established to oversee the implementation of Ireland’s 1st National Action Plan on UNSCR 1325.

Trevor Anderson

Trevor Anderson is the Trading Director who is responsible for the Trading operation across the island of Ireland which consists of 47 shops and a distribution centre in Belfast where he is based.

He has been with Oxfam for nearly 40 years, starting off as a volunteer in 1984 before becoming a full-time member of staff in 1985 holding several key positions including Shop Manager, District Retail Manager and Head of Retail.

Over the past 10 years he has successfully overseen a major cultural and operational change, moving the from a traditional charity retailing model to a modern and professional fashion retailing business.

Mark Mellet

Mark joined Oxfam Ireland as Director of Fundraising and Marketing in September 2022. Mark and his team work with Oxfam Ireland supporters, donors, volunteers, and staff, to raise the funds needed to fight inequality and bring an end to poverty and injustice. Mark is also responsible for the marketing of Oxfam Ireland’s vision of a just and sustainable world.

Before joining Oxfam Ireland, Mark worked in the Irish not-for-profit sector as Director of Fundraising, with the Irish Cancer Society and Director of Fundraising and Marketing with Focus Ireland. Prior to that he worked in roles across marketing, advertising, and branding in Ireland and the UK, within the telecommunications, automotive. not for profit and media sectors.

A native of Nenagh, County Tipperary, Mark attended University in Dublin before emigrating in the 90’s to the UK. Returning after 11 years, Mark and his family settled in Dublin. Between family and work, Mark volunteers at his local Dublin GAA club, helping with coaching and club administration, while remaining a loyal and enthusiastic Tipperary Hurling fan.

In 2014, Anne begun her journey with Oxfam Ireland, initially intending to dedicate two years in the not-for-profit sector to gain additional experience to compliment her commercial background. Little did she know, she would still be here almost 10 years later.

Anne's educational path was unconventional, she left school early and retuned to education later in life qualifying in computer programming before pursuing her accountancy exams with ACCA and attaining FCCA designation in 2009.

Prior to her experience with Oxfam, Anne's career had primarily revolved around senior financial roles in the retail and manufacturing sectors. She has extensive experience in system implementation, setting procedures for financial management, which include various controls to ensure compliance with legal requirements.

Bríd Mcgrath

Bríd has extensive experience in the NGO sector and within government. As Head of Public Policy for Respond Housing Bríd was part of the transformation of that organisation to one of Ireland’s leading builders of social housing. As Head of Communications for Amnesty Ireland she worked on the historic marriage equality referendum, the decriminalisation of abortion and campaigns to release prisoners of conscience.

Previously, Bríd was a special adviser to then Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources Eamon Ryan and worked on the Africa desk and in Irish Aid in the Department of Foreign Affairs. She has worked for the United Nations in Rome and has recently returned from Chile with her family.
