Accessibility
Oxfam Ireland is committed to providing a website that everyone, regardless of ability or technology, can easily navigate, interact with and understand.
Our Commitment
Oxfam Ireland is committed to making our website and digital services accessible to everyone. We want all visitors — including people with disabilities — to be able to access information, take part in our campaigns, and support our work without barriers.
We follow the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 (Levels A and AA). These standards explain how to make web content more usable for people with different needs.
How Accessible Our Website Is
An independent audit of our website was carried out in April–May 2025 by Vially.
- The audit showed that we currently partially meet WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA standards.
Accessibility is a journey, and we are working hard to meet the standards.
What We’re Doing to Improve
We are actively improving our website and working closely with our suppliers to overcome the barriers linked to their platforms.
Here are some of the steps we’ve already taken:
- Alt text added to all new images and non-text content.
- A new accessibility tool has been integrated into our website so that our content editors can create more accessible pages in future.
- Critical and high-severity issues are being addressed as a priority.
- Ongoing collaboration with third-party providers to make sure their services meet accessibility standards.
- Regular reviews and future audits to track progress.
Known Issues We’re Working On
- Proper descriptions for Images and older non-text content
- Colour contrast on text and interface elements.
- Clearly identify or explain errors on forms.
- Keyboard navigation and focus.
We are actively working on these issues and will continue to improve.
