Oxfam Ireland’s code of conduct for social media
Welcome and thank you for your interest in Oxfam Ireland’s online content. We use social media to talk about our work and its impact, to campaign for change, and to ask for support.
To keep our social media a positive and productive space, we ask all commenters to follow our code of conduct.
Code of conduct
- Be respectful at all times. Differences of opinion are welcome; abuse and disrespect is not.
- We do not tolerate hate speech or abuse – insults, hostile remarks, personal attacks. We delete comments that discriminate based on religion, ethnicity, nationality, race, colour, descent, gender or other identity factor.
- Spam, off-topic posts, personal promotions, and advertisements will be deleted
- Misinformation and false information will be deleted
- We reserve the right to delete or limit comments. We reserve the right to block persistent offenders from our social media profiles, to protect our service users, community and staff.

As a charity with limited resources, we will endeavour to respond in as timely a manner as capacity allows. We cannot provide customer support through social media. We cannot guarantee responses to all questions.
