  • Rate of pay: €11.45 per hour for first 20 training shifts, €13.53 - €15.61 per hour after first 20 training shifts and in addition, performance related pay.
  • Work Monday to Friday, Part and Full time available.

The role will entail our fundraisers informing, inspiring and recruiting members of the public on their doorstep to establish regular gift donations.

Job purpose:

Direct Dialogue fundraising is currently playing a very important role in enabling Oxfam Ireland to achieve our fundraising targets, and allowing us to maximise the benefits for those most in need.

The post will involve:

  • Recruiting donors door to door to support Oxfam Ireland through direct debit regular gifts.
  • Informing, inspiring and engaging the Irish public about the crucial work Oxfam Ireland is carrying out.
  • Representing Oxfam Ireland always in a friendly, courteous and professional manner at all times, and abiding by the fundraising code of conduct and established protocols.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage and inspire, and very strong spoken English.
  • A passion for Oxfam Ireland's work, knowledge of emergency/developmental aid issues is beneficial also though non essential.
  • An outgoing personality, enjoy interacting with members of the public and working outdoors within a team dynamic.
  • Experience within direct dialogue is a definite advantage, though non essential as full training is provided.
  • Access to an Internet enabled phone for new SEPA banking compliance procedures which are now mandatory.
  • A full clean driving licence is advantageous though non essential for successful applicants.

Job purpose:

  • Be responsible for leading and supporting a high performing team of Door to Door Fundraisers, who inspire members of the public to support the work that we do through monthly donations, by effectively supporting performance management through on site coaching, motivation and support.
  • Play a central role in informing, inspiring and mobilising to support Oxfam’s work.

​​​​​​​The role involves:

  • Recruiting donors’ door-to-door to support Oxfam Ireland through direct debit regular donations
  • Informing members of the public of Oxfam's crucial work
  • Representing Oxfam Ireland in a courteous and professional manner at all times
  • Holding daily team meetings to provide motivation and support for Campaigner team.
  • Providing on site coaching and support for Fundraisers, to support each individual team member in achieving results.
  • Delivering individual performance updates to team.
  • A driving allowance applies for successful candidates with a full clean driving licence.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven success in a face-to-face role, for example, fundraising, campaigning or sales
  • Experience of supporting and supervising others
  • Ability to both lead and work collaboratively within a team
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to easily build rapport with a diverse range of people
  • Excellent communication skills, creativity and the ability to develop new ways to inspire people about what Oxfam does
  • Proven ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to handle rejection
  • A positive attitude and high levels of self-motivation
  • Good organisational and time management skills
