Direct Dialogue fundraising is currently playing a very important role in enabling Oxfam Ireland to beat poverty.

Job purpose: Direct Dialogue fundraising is currently playing a very important role in enabling Oxfam Ireland to achieve our fundraising targets, and allowing us to maximise the benefits for those most in need.

The post will involve:
  • Recruiting donors door to door to support Oxfam Ireland through direct debit regular gifts.
  • Informing, inspiring and engaging the Irish public about the crucial work Oxfam Ireland is carrying out.
  • Representing Oxfam Ireland always in a friendly, courteous and professional manner at all times, and abiding by the fundraising code of conduct and established protocols.
The successful candidate will have:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage and inspire, and very strong spoken English.
  • A passion for Oxfam Ireland's work, knowledge of emergency/developmental aid issues is beneficial also though non essential.
  • An outgoing personality, enjoy interacting with members of the public and working outdoors within a team dynamic.
  • Experience within direct dialogue is a definite advantage, though non essential as full training is provided.
Rate of pay: €13.13 - €15.15 an hour

The Role
Oxfam Ireland is looking for a Campaigns & Advocacy Executive to join our Public Engagement Department in Dublin. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of advocacy and campaigning work in line with Oxfam’s goals. Two key areas of focus are Oxfam’s European migration programme and climate change and associated advocacy/policy, campaigns and public engagement work.

Our next Campaigns & Advocacy Executive will require a range of skills and experience:
  • A proven track record and demonstrable experience in:
    • Successfully planning, delivering and monitoring multi-channel advocacy and public mobilisation campaigns, including by leveraging digital technology
    • Organising and mobilising the public on specific issues
    • Monitoring, analysing and reporting on campaigner/supporter engagement journeys
    • Production of campaigns materials for varied audiences and channels, including digital
    • Facilitating campaigns trainings, workshops and events
  • In-depth knowledge of EU policies on migration/global displacement and refugees and experience advocating and campaigning on the same
  • Knowledge of political environment on the island of Ireland and how it relates to the organisation’s work in terms of development issues
  • Track record in building networks and influencing with strong interpersonal and negotiating skills for engagement with a wide variety of audiences

Six 4 Good is a unique fashion collaboration between Oxfam Ireland and SIX – Look good, do good. Six 4 Good is an accessories and jewellery shop with a difference. All of the brand-new items on sale in-store have been generously donated to Oxfam Ireland by SIX (a Beeline brand) to help raise vital funds for people in extreme poverty worldwide.

The Role
Oxfam Ireland is looking for a Shop Manager to join our Six 4 Good store in Omni Park Shopping Centre, Santry (Dublin). The Shop Manager will manage and develop the shop team while delivering the agreed shop budget and maximising the shops’ contribution to Oxfam primarily to raise funds and secondarily to promote Oxfam’s values.
Our next Shop Manager will require a range of skills and experience:
  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ relevant shop manager experience and/or 2-3 years deputy manager experience in a fashion retail environment or similar sector
  • Relevant experience of staff management to include motivating and developing a cohesive team and leading by example
  • Relevant experience in visual merchandising with an emphasis on sales through product knowledge and commercial awareness
  • Relevant experience in financial procedures and an understanding of reporting tools to include budgeting, P&L and sales analysis
