Bohemian FC - Responding to the needs of a community: For a Climate Just Future with Bohemian Climate Cooperative

Bohemian Climate Cooperative would like to welcome you to an interactive workshop discussing how we respond to a community needs when looking for climate action solutions. We will be using data collected from different imaginary communities, who have different demographics, socio- economic components and where their environmental rights may be affected. From this data, we will discuss the available solutions and which may be most affective for each communities needs.

About us Bohemian FC
The Bohemian Climate Cooperative is an ambitious initiative to drive equitable climate action in Dublin 7 and beyond. It is rooted in the principles of worker ownership, community wealth building, and economic democracy. By leveraging economies of scale and collective purchasing power, the cooperative aims to make climate solutions more accessible while simultaneously creating good jobs and generating long-term economic opportunities in the community. This initiative has developed following a three-year project called The Spark, now in its final year. The Spark is a capacity building project which is educating our community on cooperative climate action, instils an ethos of listening to the needs of the community to respond effectively, and has produced a robust steering committee of key stakeholders in our community.

CATU Cork

CATU Cork is a grassroots, member-led union organising renters, council tenants, direct provision and those in precarious housing to fight for secure, affordable homes and strong communities. We stand against unjust evictions, rising rents, and poor housing conditions, because housing is a fundamental right, not a commodity.

We know that housing justice is climate justice. Many renters and working-class communities are on the frontlines of the climate crisis, facing energy poverty, unsafe living conditions, and lack of control over their homes. CATU Cork fights for warm and safe housing while challenging landlord greed and government inaction. We support community-led solutions that put people before profit - because a just transition must include housing.

The union is built upon direct action and collective power. If you believe in fair housing, strong communities, and a liveable future, get involved and take action with us.
