How to Use Oxfam Ireland’s PostBack: Your Step-by-Step Guide to Donating by Post
Got great-quality items you no longer need? Want to support Oxfam Ireland without leaving your home? Our PostBack service, in partnership with An Post, makes it easy to donate pre-loved fashion, books, and accessories, just pack them up and post them back to us for free.
But before you drop your bag off or book a collection, there are a few important steps you must follow to make sure your donation gets to us safely and securely. Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Pack Your Oxfam Bag
Start by filling your Oxfam PostBack with good, clean items . Need a reminder of what to include? Scroll down for donation tips!
Important: Make sure the bag is sealed shut before posting.
An Post will only accept sealed Oxfam bags, unsealed bags will not be accepted. Try not to over fill your bag , if you have more than will fit in one bag , you can simply order another .

Step 2: Register Your Return Online
Head to anpost.com/returns or scan the QR code that came with your bag.
- Choose “Search by retailer” and type Oxfam Ireland
- Select your return method - either ‘Book a Collection’ or ‘Drop Off’ [If you are near a Post Office]
- Select the date the suits you.
- Fill in your details, An Post will email you a barcode and that’s it!
If you selected a collection , An Post will come to your home on the selected date with the return label and collect your bag .
If you’re dropping off at a post office, you must generate your label online first. You can print it at home or show the barcode you received at the post office when you arrive and they will print the label for you .

Wondering what to send in your PostBack bag? Here’s what we love to receive:
✔ Clothing – Clean, items in good condition.
✔ Accessories – Handbags, belts, scarves, hats, and jewellery
✔ Books – Fiction, non-fiction, and children’s books in good condition
✔ Shoes – Gently worn pairs like trainers, boots, or dress shoes
What Not to Send:
To keep things safe and manageable for our team, please don’t donate these items by post .
Duvets, pillows, towels or underwear– for hygiene reasons
Furniture or large items – these can’t be sent by post but may be accepted in Oxfam shops

Once your return is arranged and your bag is sealed, simply wait for your home collection.
If you live near a Post Office you can drop your bag off , scan the barcode you were emailed , drop it off. Your generous donation will go on to support Oxfam’s vital work fighting poverty and inequality around the world.
