Oxfam Ireland and An Post make gifting more sustainable with ‘Send Pre-Loved’ campaign

Have a "conscious Christmas" this year - featuring a Dublin pop up hosted by Zeda the Architect on Saturday, 22nd November.

This Christmas, Oxfam Ireland and An Post are joining forces to make gifting more meaningful with Send Pre-Loved – featuring a pop up of Oxfam Ireland picks chosen by Zeda the Architect.

This year, we’re asking people to think differently; to choose gifts that already exist, that tell a story, and that help others. Buying pre-loved isn’t just about saving money - it’s about saving resources and making a real difference to tackling poverty globally.

Sustainable shopping has been firmly on the rise, but it’s not just a trend. Stores around the country are full of great quality clothes, homeware, books and toys waiting to be given a spot under the Christmas tree during the big consumption cycle of the year.

‘Send Pre-Loved’ will kick off with a special pop-up event in Dublin on Saturday, November 22nd, hosted by Zeda the Architect, one of Ireland’s most creative stylists and advocates for sustainable fashion. The pop-up will showcase curated vintage and pre-loved fashion finds styled by Zeda, running from 11am to 2:30pm at St Andrew’s Street post office.

Oxfam and An Post's Christmas pop-up aims to show that style, substance and sustainability can go hand-in-hand. Whether you’re looking for an outfit to wear to the multiple events taking place across December or a niche vintage find for a loved one to cherish; Oxfam has the picks. Each piece has a tale in its threads, and each purchase helps to tackle poverty while reducing waste. The creative powerhouse is also no stranger to the world of charity shopping and re-using clothes for new life.

“I grew up understanding the value of giving things a second life, so choosing pre-loved gifts feels instinctive to me. Second-hand pieces carry character, history and intention. They already exist, so they don’t cost the planet anything extra. Shopping in Oxfam means your gift stretches even further, supporting communities who need it most. This campaign speaks to everything I believe about fashion: it should be expressive, accessible and rooted in care.”

From postbox to purpose

Throughout the Send Pre-Loved campaign, people across Ireland can use our PostBack bags to donate quality, pre-loved clothes and gifts directly to Oxfam Ireland shops. By sending a bag of second-hand treasures directly to Oxfam stores for free, you can offer life-changing support for people facing poverty and inequality.

The partnership highlights how small, sustainable actions can have a big global impact: every pre-loved item keeps resources in circulation, reduces waste, and funds Oxfam’s vital work tackling rising inequality around the world. PostBack bags were launched in March 2025 and has seen over 25,000 orders from the Oxfam and An Post websites. The incredible feat has proven how far community action can go in encouraging donations.

The sustainability movement is growing bigger by the year, and the festive season is a time known for generosity. We are incredibly thankful to those who are contributing to a less wasteful season while boosting the work we do against inequality. Our local communities mean the world to us, and we’re thrilled to keep up the momentum on partnership with An Post. Having a conscious Christmas couldn’t get any easier!
