Join our Retail Team, a community of volunteers who are ready and able to support our varied range of retail activities across our Oxfam Shops. Bring your enthusiasm and team working skills to support everything from good customer service to receiving and preparing donated goods (furniture and electrical) for displaying and selling to promoting the goals of the organisation. Together, we can be a global movement of people challenging inequality to end poverty and injustice for good.

 

What you will be doing 

Supporting shop manager(s) with daily activities by helping to receive, prepare and sell, both new and second-hand furniture and electrical goods. 

  • Meeting and greeting customers
  • Collecting and receiving donated furniture (Furniture) / Receiving and inspecting electrical goods (Electrical)
  • Assessing and preparing donated goods
  • Organising and displaying stock

 

The skills you need

  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently with guidance and support
  • Good communication skills
  • Willingness to adhere to health and safety procedures relating to the role
  • Enthusiastic and an interest in learning
  • Patient, flexible and reliable
  • Basic IT skills
  • Ability to recognise when to ask for support or raise concerns if required
  • Ability to respect others’ differences and choices
