Some inspiration for your own event

AT HOME

CUPPA AND CAKE

There’s nothing quite like a warm cuppa and homemade cake! Or how about inviting pals around for an afternoon treat of dreamy creamy scones and speciality teas?

COME DINE WITH ME

Invite your friends around for a bite to eat and a glass of wine. If you’re stuck for time, try tapas, pizza or pot-luck where everyone brings a dish.

GO GLAM FOR OXFAM

Ask guests to declutter their wardrobes by bringing good quality clothes. In exchange for their admission fee, they receive tokens to use to buy other items. Any leftover garments can be donated to your local Oxfam shop.

MOVIE NIGHT

Give your friends something to look forward to with a special screening of an old favourite or a recent must-see. Serve a few treats, a nice cuppa or a glass of bubbly and your guests just won’t want to leave!

AT WORK

BAKE SALE

Treat your colleagues a tea break they’ll remember with homemade treats or appeal to their competitive side with a sponsored bake-off!

PAY-DAY BREAKFAST

Treat your colleagues to a scrumptious breakfast on payday. Ask a local shop or supplier to come on board by donating food or offering a discount. Your office will soon be asking about the next date.

BRING AND BUY BOOK SALE

Ask your colleagues to spring clean their bookshelves by bringing some unwanted books to work. Price them up ahead of your fundraiser. On the day itself, combine with tea, coffee, cake and some well-deserved downtime.

IN YOUR COMMUNITY

OXJAM MUSIC EVENT

Contact a venue and get them on board to help host your music night.  Showcase local talent and enjoy the buzzing atmosphere.

PUB QUIZ

It’s a tried and trusted fundraiser that never goes out of fashion. Find a suitable venue and choose a quiz master. Compile your quiz rounds, including pictures, music or props. Local businesses are usually happy to donate prizes.

GET ACTIVE FOR OXFAM

Got a spring in your step? You could take to the great outdoors for a stroll, a challenging hill-climb, a jog, a cycle or even an icy swim. If you prefer an indoor activity, how about a Wii tournament?
