In addition to being the lifeblood of our 46 shops, Oxfam volunteers are making a huge impact everyday by supporting in our offices and distribution centre, helping to organise events as well as campaigning for change at music festivals and major events across the country.
"A normal Shift is about four hours, but I always wish it could be longer, because it is amazing to see so many people of all ages take an interest in books and helping charity"
Chloe Chu, a volunteer at Oxfam Books in Dublin
"Volunteering is an opportunity to give something back to your community and you get something in return also - A new batch of friends, something positive to keep you busy, while also raising money for projects in the developing world"
Kay Rogers, former Oxfam Ireland Board member and volunteer in Belfast Office
Retail
Our shops are run by wonderful dedicated crews of volunteers. It’s a team approach and we like to have fun while getting the job done. We sort, price, prepare and sell, both new and second hand clothes, books, accessories, furniture and even bridal wear in some locations.
So why wait? Get involved and become part of the change today. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3.
