Some crises can't be prevented, or imagined, in advance. But as soon as they strike – when conflict breaks out, when an earthquake or hurricane hits – Oxfam and our partners on the ground need to be ready to respond. Lives depend on it.
Your gift to Oxfam's Saving Lives 24/7 Fund will go directly toward our emergency work, present and future. We help people caught up in natural disasters and conflicts across the world with clean water, food, sanitation and protection.
At any given time, we are responding to over 30 emergency situations, giving life-saving support to those most in need.
- Oxfam is providing emergency life-saving relief to the desperate and largely unknown humanitarian crises in Yemen and the Lake Chad Basin region of West Africa.
- Our teams are on the ground in Zimbabwe and Burundi, responding to the climate-related El Nino crisis which has caused severe droughts and floods in the region, limiting people's access to the basic needs of food and water.
- Oxfam is on the ground in nine out of the 10 main countries of origin for refugees in the world including Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, South Sudan and Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as in neighbouring host countries like Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey, along with supporting displaced people in countries like the Central African Republic. In Europe, our programmes are in Greece, Italy, Serbia and Macedonia.
- In the recent aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, that swept through Haiti, our teams are starting to assess immediate needs and to prepare a response.
Please lend your support so that when crises erupt, we're ready to save lives. Please donate what you can to the Saving Lives 24/7 Fund today.
