Missing an Education
Ordinary people can have an extraordinary impact. Just think of your favourite teacher. Or a nurse who cared for someone in your family. In the developing world teachers, doctors and nurses not only shape and save lives - they are the frontline in the battle against poverty.
Yet there's a lot still to be done: 72 million kids can't go to school. Every three seconds a child dies, mainly due to diseases that could easily be prevented with access to a doctor.
To make health and education a reality for all, the world needs 2 million more teachers and 4.25 more million health workers. Around the world, Oxfam is asking for 6 million people to join us in our demand for Health and Education for all, standing alongside the new workers we desperately need.
