Oxfamcampus
Oxfamcampus, Queen's University, Belfast, is the first Oxfam Ireland shop to have opened on a university campus. The shop opened in September 2006 and it is situated in the newly-refurbished Students' Union building, directly opposite the main university building. The shop is an ideal place for students to meet and share campaigning ideas, become involved in supporting Oxfam Ireland's work overseas and broaden their minds! Also, there are ample opportunities for browsing for some retro clothing to match Queen's hectic student life.
As Queen's University Belfast has been associated with Oxfam Ireland's Fairtrade campaigns for some time, our Oxfamcampus shop is ideally situated in the hub of the university's campaigning scene. Since February 2006, Queen's University has Fairtrade status and is one of only 10% of universities in Britain and Northern Ireland to have achieved this recognition. This accolade, in turn, means that the university is committed to promoting Fairtrade and a range of Fairtrade goods are available in all the university's food/beverage outlets.
