Oxfam Ireland announces it Poems for 2009 competition
Oxfam Ireland is looking for six budding poets to enter a unique poetry calendar that offers the opportunity to be published alongside six nationally- and internationally acclaimed poets. This is the fourth year of the competition and last year the calendar raised €9,000 for Oxfam Ireland 's overseas work.
This year's poets include Vona Groarke, Moya Cannon, Eamon Grennan, Dave Lordan, Eilean Ni Chuileanain and Patrick Deeley. Patrick will also judge the competition.
The cost per entry is €5 per poem and the closing date for entries is July 15th 2008 .
Download your application form here, or request an application form by sending an SAE to Oxfambooks, 23 Parliament St, Dublin 2. Once your entry is completed, you can post it to Oxfam Ireland, 9 Burgh Quay, Dublin 2.
The beautifully presented calendar, which features 12 specially commissioned works by artists represented by the Blue Leaf Gallery, will go on sale in many of Oxfam's shops throughout the country.
