About Donations to Oxfamhome
Condition of Goods
All items must be saleable. Unfortunately, we cannot repair items.
Fire and Safety Labels
Sofas, beds, dining chairs with cushions and anything upholstered must have a fire safety label. The label will read ‘Complies with 1988 Regulations’ or may show a cigarette with a line through it. All items that date from before 1950 are exempt.
Electrical Goods (no more than 6 years old)
Kitchen appliances and large televisions can be collected, but they must be plugged in and working when the driver collects, due to the high cost of disposal.
Collection Areas
We usually collect from postcodes ranging from BT 1 through to BT 20 and BT 22, BT 23, BT 27, BT 28, BT 36. This does not rule out other areas, and we may be able to make collections to other areas depending on the items offered.
Please remember the cost involved
The value of the goods must offset the cost of the collection. Although we appreciate small items, we cannot always collect.
What is Gift Aid?
Oxfamhome Dublin Road is participating in Gift Aid on donations of items. This allows us to raise another 28% on all your donations.
What do I have to do?
If you are a U.K. Taxpayer you simply sign the Gift Aid declaration form when the driver comes out to collect the items.
