About Oxfam Ireland

Oxfam IrelandOxfam Ireland works with people around the world to end the injustice of poverty. We are an independent and secular not-for-profit organisation. Oxfam Ireland is a member of Oxfam International, a confederation of thirteen independent members. The members work together to achieve greater impact by their collective efforts.

What do we do?

Oxfam Ireland's work Oxfam is many different things. It’s the organisation which helps poor people to build a better future for themselves. It’s the relief agency which brings help when disaster strikes. And Oxfam is the campaigner for a fairer world. Through our work in long-term development, emergencies and campaigning, Oxfam helps people to achieve their right to a life free from poverty, suffering and injustice.

If you buy something for €38/£35 in Oxfamhome, this can could pay for a goat for one family in Northern Uganda. A locally bought goat will give family milk to drink, fertiliser for their crops, and kids to add to their herd.  Find out more about exactly what your donations can do.

The familiar Oxfam shops that sell clothes, books, jewellery, music, and other donated goods have been joined by our specialist shops – Oxfambooks, Oxfambridal and Oxfamvintage – keeping Oxfam at the forefront of charity retailing.

And don’t forget to check out our Fair Trade shops – purveyors of ethical food, gifts and much more.
