Brides-to-be offered an ethical bargain at Oxfam Ballyhackamore
Oxfam Ireland Press Release
14 August 2008
If you are a bride on a budget, do you know the best pace to start looking? “I do!” says Karen Russell of Oxfam Ireland’s Ballyhackamore shop, which has 20 new wedding gowns for sale at low prices.
“The dresses were recently donated by a local bridal boutique’s end of line stock and as such are actually brand new and never worn before”, says Karen, Shop Manager at Oxfam Ballyhackamore. “The gowns are available in a range of sizes, colours and styles, from sleek modern designs to traditional fairytale dresses and, to protect your gown, each comes with its own dress cover free of charge.”
“We were also generously donated some gowns last year and that proved a great success too, so we know from experience that brides-to-be will have to quick off the mark to snap up one of these newly donated wedding dresses”, says Karen.
Priced between £50 and £450, the gowns are more than just excellent value for money, as Karen explained.
“During the credit crunch, anything that helps stretch your wedding budget is to be welcomed – and even better if it’s ethical too! By helping yourself to bargain for your big day you will also be helping others, as Oxfam Ireland fights poverty and injustice in the developing world.”
