Face the music for Oxfam Ireland and put yourself in the picture

 Oxfam Ireland Press Release
11th March 2008

Sleeveface (TM) CompetitionMusic fans love being photographed with their favourite pop stars. Now you can be too, with the launch of a Sleeveface™ competition to promote April as Oxfam Ireland 's ClearURMusic Month.

Sleeveface™ means you put yourself in the picture so you can actually merge with your preferred musical heroes – all you need to do is pose with your favourite album cover, with the sleeve portrait doubling as your face. As the Spice Girls sang, 2 become 1!

“Oxfam Ireland loved the great works of art at www.sleeveface.com so much that we decided to launch a Sleeveface™ competition of our very own , with the winning photo set to become the poster ‘face' for ClearURMusic Month”, said Peter Tomlinson , Oxfam Ireland's Business Development Manager. “So dust off your soulful, striking, glamorous and just plain cheesy record covers – Oxfam Ireland wants you to Sleeveface™ them! If you don't already have a suitable album on vinyl, why not drop in to your local Oxfam Ireland shop and see what's available there?”

Then, once you have rooted through your old record collection for your Sleeveface™ competition entry, why not donate any albums you either no longer listen to or have already upgraded to CD? Simply bring them along to your local Oxfam Ireland shop, where staff will be glad to receive any of your good condition records, tapes and CDs, to raise money to fight poverty in the developing world.

How To Enter

Pose with one or more of your favourite album covers, and email your pictures to webmaster [at] oxfamireland.org – the more witty and inventive, the better. The competition closing date is Monday 24th March 2008 so get Sleevefacing now! See the slideshow on Flickr for inspiration and the entries so far:
