Oxjam
1st March 8:30pm
Empire (Botanic Av., Belfast)

27 February 2006

Oxjam takes place on the 1st of March at 8:30pm in the Empire on Botanic Avenue.

This will be the third annual Oxjam in support of the work of Oxfam Ireland, and this year the gig will be highlighting Fair Trade Fortnight, which begins on the 6th March.

Oxjam 2006 will see a mixture of established and fresh new acts, with musical styles ranging from folk-rock to funk, which should make for an intriguing mix.

The acts include, local signer songwriter and Empire regular Ken Haddock. Singer, writer, guitarist and ukulele player Geoff Gatt. Making their debut at Oxjam are Jai who play music that could be described as a new fusion of funk, jazz, ska, and African music. Cal, fronted by songwriter Colin McMurray, and Furnell- a locally based, but multinational band- will also be playing.

All proceeds from the night will be going to Oxfam Ireland's work.
