Thumbs up for the Third World Run!

Olympic gold medal winner Haile Gebreselassie gives the thumbs up for the Third World Run!

Final training is under way for the hundreds of athletes expected to take part in this year's Third World Run. Now in its 19th year, the run will see participants compete to raise money for third world charities Christian Aid, Concern, Oxfam Ireland and Trocaire.

The Third World Run takes place at Belfast's Ozone Leisure Complex on May 22nd at 3pm. Participants can choose from a 10k run for the serious athletes, a 3k run for the more casual joggers and a 3k fun walk for family groups.

Entry forms are available on www.thirdworldrun.org, at leisure centres, libraries, Oxfam shops and from the agencies themselves.

Postal entries should be in by Saturday 14th May but entries will be gladly accepted on the day.

Tom Wilson, event organiser said, "We are always amazed by the generosity of the people who take part in this event every year. It promises to be a really fun day out for an important cause. I would encourage everyone to get en entry form, get sponsored, get running, and help us support disadvantaged communities around the world."
