MENARYS AND OXFAM JOIN FORCES TO AID VICTIMS OF ASIA EARTHQUAKE
Northern Ireland’s leading department store chain Menarys has joined forces with Oxfam to form a unique partnership to raise funds for Oxfam’s Asia Earthquake Floods Appeal.
Menarys are donating thousands of brand new garments to sell in the temporary Oxfam ‘Asia Earthquake Floods Appeal’ shops in the Abbey Centre Shopping Centre in Newtownabbey and Connswater Shopping centre in Belfast.
The fashionable new clothing from Menarys includes coats and jackets, suits, eveningwear, knitwear and blouses. Top international labels like Gerry Weber, Olsen, Mexx, Bianca and Michael H will be on sale at 70% off their original ticket price, so it’s a great opportunity to pick up a brilliant fashion bargain and help a very worthwhile cause at the same time.
The shop units have been provided by the Abbey Centre & Connswater free of charge and will open at 10am on Thursday 13 January and 10am on Thursday 20th January..
Trevor Anderson Oxfam Retail Manager said, “This is yet another example of the amazing generosity from the people of Northern Ireland and we want to thank Menarys, Abbey Centre and Connswater shopping centre. Portview Construction and Maguire Fairweather Partnership for their donations. I am confident that the Abbey Centre and Connswater shopping centre customers will support us in this new venture.”
Stephen McCammon, Menarys Director, said “People across Northern Ireland have been moved by the plight of victims of the terrible tragedy in Asia. As local retailers we’re keen to do whatever we can to help. We know Oxfam will use this stock to generate valuable funds that will provide assistance and aid in the affected areas, and we’re glad to be even a small part of that effort.”
