Oxfam Ireland has established a direct dialogue fundraising department in order to help us work towards achieving our vision of a just world without poverty.
Direct dialogue fundraising will play an important role in enabling Oxfam Ireland to achieve our fundraising targets, and allowing us to maximise the benefits for our beneficiaries.
This is an exciting opportunity for passionate individuals to join Oxfam Ireland and pursue a career in fundraising and the Charity Sector, with great potential for career progression and future advancement.
This role may entail some occasional traveling and overnight stays across various locations in Ireland. Travel and accommodation will always be provided by Oxfam Ireland.
You will be asked to spend some time fundraising outside greater Dublin no more than every second week.
The role will entail our fundraisers informing, inspiring, and recruiting members of the public on their doorstep to establish regular gift donations.
Flat Fixed Rate of Pay of €13 per hour. (During the initial 20 shift training period the rate of pay will be fixed at €11 per hour.
After this period is completed the rate of pay automatically increases to a flat fixed rate of €13 per hour.)
The post will involve Recruiting donors door to door/on the phone to support Oxfam Ireland through direct debit regular gifts.
Informing and engaging the Irish public about the crucial work that Oxfam Ireland is carrying out.
Representing Oxfam Ireland in a friendly, courteous and professional manner at all times, and abiding by the fundraising code of conduct and established protocols.
The successful candidate will have: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and very strong spoken English.
A passion for Oxfam Ireland’s work, and knowledge of emergency/developmental aid issues is beneficial though non-essential.
An outgoing personality, enjoy interacting with members of the public and working outdoors within a team dynamic.
Experience within direct dialogue is a definite advantage, though non-essential as full training is provided.
