Why take part?
Sometimes, maybe just once in a lifetime, you get the chance to achieve something extraordinary. To wow your friends and prove something to yourself, while making a lasting difference to people affected by severe poverty and injustice around the world.
Trailtrekker 2014 is one of those chances – and it is not to be missed!
Trailtrekker is the goal you need to stay motivated and improve your fitness levels in 2014. By working toward a realistic target as well as an enjoyable event, you’re sure to stick to the basic training required, feeling energised, invigorated and ready for anything by the end of it!
And you don’t have to do it alone! Trailtrekker 2014 is a team event and so you can do it with 2-5 of your best friends, training together, trekking together and supporting each other every step of the way! You could even make it a weekend away with friends and do something you enjoy while raising vital funds to help those living in the world’s poorest countries.
The sense of achievement from completing Trailtrekker will stay with you for a lifetime.
“Parts of it were tough but it’s been an amazing experience. The fact that we were doing it for Oxfam was really important.” - Dominick Branigan, winner of the 2013 50km event.
“Trailtrekker has the feel-good factor; the sense of achievement is great. You’re doing it for such a good cause.” - Darin Kirwin, captain of last year’s 25km winning team.
