Run for Oxfam

Run a race for Oxfam Ireland and your footsteps will be felt around the world.

Tony Ryan, London Marathon participant 2009Whether you’re doing a full marathon, a 10km run or relay event, you can raise money to inspire a better future. Throughout the year there are lots of running events all over the country and further afield!

Once you’ve secured your place, please contact us to let us know which event you are taking part in and we’ll send you sponsor forms and a running vest or t-shirt. There is no limit on the amount you need to raise and our events team will provide you with lots of encouragement and support!

Running Events in 2011

22nd May 2011:  Third World Run, Ormeau Park, Belfast

This is the 25th anniversary of the Third World Run in Belfast, which began as part of Bob Geldolf’s ‘Run the World’ event which saw 20 million runners gather across 274 cities to run simultaneously in 1986.

You can choose between the 10k or 3k runs or the family fun walk and proceeds raised will be split between Oxfam Ireland, Concern Worldwide, Christian Aid and Trocaire.

6th June 2011:  Flora Women’s Mini Marathon, Dublin

The Flora Women’s Mini Marathon is the biggest all women’s event of its kind in the world.  The mini marathon is 10k and the route goes from Fitzwilliam Square to St Stephen’s Green.

31st October 2011:  Dublin Marathon

This is the 31st year of the National Lottery Dublin Marathon, which is run through the historic Georgian streets of Dublin.  Over 10,000 runners are expected to take part in what is known internationally as the ‘Friendly Marathon’.  The course is largely flat and is a single lap, starting and finishing close to the City Centre.

Entry fee:  €70
