When you make a gift to Oxfam, we make this commitment to you:
- We will keep administration and fundraising costs to a minimum.
- You will receive a prompt acknowledgement of your gift, at your request.
- You will receive information about the overseas projects and advocacy work that your gifts help to support.
- Our fundraisers will observe the highest professional standards at all times.
- Your right to privacy will be respected and Oxfam Ireland will comply with the laws relating to fundraising and use of personal data.
- Your gift will be handled responsibly and to the greatest advantage of the beneficiary.
- Where applicable, tax relief on donations will be claimed.
- We will ensure that funds raised in response to an emergency appeal will be used effectively to meet the critical needs of the victims. If, for any reason (e.g. a high-risk security situation) it is not possible to expend all funds received in the particular emergency within a reasonable period, we may re-deploy the extra funds to another area of Oxfam's work within the same region. When this occurs, we will detail it in our annual report.
- We will prepare externally audited accounts. These accounts are available from our head office for inspection at any time. We will also prepare an annual report summarising our programme activities and financial results.
- We will seek to maximise the value of public donations by applying for funding from official funding bodies e.g. the Government, the European Union.
