Meet Ntombizodwa Marufu from Zimbabwe who received Chicks:
“I’ve been a widow for 14 years – my husband died from HIV-related diseases. Two years ago I received seven chickens from Oxfam…. I was chosen for three reasons: because I’m a widow, I’m HIV-positive and I look after an orphan in addition to my own six children… Yesterday I sold three chickens. I’ve sold them at intervals to help uplift my family, to pay for school fees and food. The eggs are really helpful for those of us who aren’t in good health, and we sell them too.”
